Out For a Walk

It was a very cold day today; I even needed earmuffs! So today's walk to the grocery store was a brisk one, but I did manage to get a few shots that caught my eye on the way. Enjoy!

  1. It's very cold here, too, and supposed to get drastically colder this weekend. Might have to pull out my ear muffs, too!
Showed my boys the train....very cool shot!

    1. Heh, heh! I figured the boys would like that one.

  2. Love the dramatic contrast of the huge black locomotive spewing black smoke against the snowy landscape. And ducks? Who couldn't love and admire ducks brave enough to "sail" on icy waters>

I think you explained this before, but can you explain the steel bridge in the forefront of the first photo?

    1. I don't know anything about that "bridge" except what it looks like - two steel girders laid across the creek. I just like how it looks contrasted with the stone causeway in the background, so I keep taking pictures of them.

  3. Oh - and earmuffs? My favorite winter accessory. I scored two pairs at Habitat Thrift today for $1 each! Made the 50 mile round trip worth while, even though I couldn't find a monitor. (Mine turned yellow yesterday.) Earmuffs in adult sizes that fit without pinching, sliding off, pulling out hair or having cartoon accessories are very hard to find!

    1. When it gets really cold I have a hat with earflaps, all lined with poly "fur". I have to work tomorrow and Sunday, both opening shifts, and it looks like that one will get worn, especially for Sunday morning!
